DEPARTMENT OF PHYSICS

 The department of Physics was started in the year 1956. It was upgraded to postgraduate level in 1999 and awarded the status of Research Department in 2015. The department is blessed with a band of eminent and committed teachers among them majority are PhD holders.

The MSc result of the department is incomparable where most of the batches secure 100% first class in the MSc examination. Many degree students of this department have secured admission in IIT’s and other prestigious institutions.  The department is rich in infrastructure facilities ad co-curricular activities.. it maintains separate state-of-art labs for UG and PG classes. Seminars, workshops orientation programmes for students, a variety of competitions open to students from other colleges, an electronic club and a photographic club functioning under the Physics Club are some of the distinguishing features of this department.
