DEPARTMENT OF PROFESSIONAL STUDIES
The Department of Professional Studies offering two programs started in the academic year 2024-25 is dedicated to shaping commerce graduates into globally competent professionals. The department offers two specialized undergraduate programmes; B. Com Professional Honours and B. Com Applied Finance and Accounting Honours.
Both the programs blend academic learning with globally recognized professional certifications such as CMA and ACCA. The B. Com Professional program is integrated with the globally recognized CMA (US) certification and the curriculum is aligned with CMA (US). The Program, B. Com Applied Finance and Accounting is integrated with ACCA (UK) certification and the curriculum is aligned with ACCA (UK).
The department places strong emphasis on research, career readiness, and continuous personal development of the students. Students benefit from individual mentoring, hands-on learning experiences, and regular expert-led academic sessions that broaden their perspectives and prepare them for industry demands.
Beyond the classroom, the department actively fosters student engagement through events like, International Conferences on various contemporary and newly emerging topics in the area of their studies. Nirvana Management Fest, one of the major management fests in Kerala is co-hosted by the department and every student is an organiser of the event. These platforms provide opportunities for students to showcase their talents, network with professionals, and gain insights into the evolving business world. Several students have achieved notable success in clearing professional exams and securing placements in reputed national and international firms. With a supportive academic environment and a focus on holistic development, the department equips students not only with knowledge but also with the skills and confidence to thrive in their career.
