Established in 2012, the Department of Business Management at St. Joseph's College (Autonomous), Devagiri, stands as a dynamic and forward-thinking hub for aspiring business leaders. Our department offers a comprehensive suite of four specialized Undergraduate Honours Programmes designed to meet the evolving demands of the global business landscape, in four different core specializations of Finance, International Business, Sports Management, and Business Analytics. This diverse portfolio allows students to tailor their education to their specific interests and career aspirations.

Beyond the rigorous academic curriculum, the Department is a hotbed of vibrant activity and engagement. We are the proud organizers of "Nirvana," our annual national level inter-collegiate management fest, a dynamic platform for students to showcase their skills and network with peers. We attract thousands of participants from within and outside the state everyyaer for this flagship event!  Furthermore, we host the prestigious DAIBC - Devagiri AIMA International Business Conclave, a collaborative initiative with the All India Malayalee Association, bringing together industry experts and thought leaders for insightful discussions on contemporary business challenges.

Our commitment to holistic development extends through Elevate Devagiri, which exemplifies our commitment to holistic development through experiential learning. This student-driven miniature company operates as a dynamic business within the campus, providing a unique platform for students to translate classroom theories into real-world practice. We have student CEO, and Department Managers, who will run this business, just like a corporate! This initiative not only facilitates a deeper understanding of business principles but also offers students the tangible opportunity to generate actual profits.  

We actively engage in impactful Consultancy Projects, bridging the gap between academia and real-world application. These initiatives provide invaluable experiential learning opportunities for our students, allowing them to apply classroom theories to address tangible business challenges faced by corporations and non-governmental organizations. For instance, our students have successfully assisted a collective of farmers in a rural village of Kozhikode to develop effective marketing strategies for their honey, leading to enhanced profitability. Additionally, we have partnered with Milma, to conduct comprehensive market surveys for accurate demand estimation. By participating in such diverse consultancy projects, students gain practical insights, develop crucial professional skills, and build a compelling portfolio of real-world experience, significantly enhancing their resume and future career prospects.

To further enhance student employability and provide specialized knowledge, the Department offers a range of valuable Certification Courses, including but not limited to Advanced Excel, Power-BI, Digital Marketing, E-Filing of GST/IT, Business Etiquette etc.

At the Department of Business Management, every Wednesday transforms into Corporate Wednesday, a signature best practice dedicated to experiential and participative learning. On this unique day, students embrace a professional formal dress code, setting the tone for an immersive learning experience that transcends traditional classroom boundaries. The day comes alive with insights from industry experts, engaging student-led activities, dynamic role-plays, and vibrant sessions organized by our active student clubs. Corporate Wednesday is designed to foster out-of-the-box thinking, cultivate practical skills, and provide a truly special and enriching learning journey for our students.
