CHEMISTRY

The chemistry department of Devagiri College were active in research since the department received first research grant from DST under the fast Track Scheme in 2005. Our department is a research center and Dr. Raju Francis, Reader is a recognized Ph.D. guide of University of Calicut. At present one student got registration to carry out Ph. D. work. Currently Dr. Francis' group is involved in the synthesis and applications stimuli sensitive materials, synthetic biomaterials, interfacial agents etc.
There are two ongoing projects in the department. One is supported by CSIR under the EMR Scheme and the other by DST under the SERC scheme. Area of research: Polymer organic chemistry, photochemistry, Biomaterials, Phytochemistry, Molecular modelling
