The College's Counselling service is part of the Department of Student Services, which exists to help students in various ways to make the most of their College experience.

Sometimes, students may have concerns which need discussing in greater depth than a tutorial can cater for and which may be of a more private and personal nature. The Counselling Service provides time and space to explore any concerns in a confidential and non- judgemental setting, with a view to helping students prioritise, make - decisions, set goals and find solutions for their difficulties.

If a student has a problem - of any sort - which is causing undue worry or upset, there is no reason for them to suffer alone without help. The College Counsellor is a trained professional who is extensively experienced in helping students of all ages, backgrounds and cultures, across a wide range of possible issues and difficulties, always in confidence.

When a student sees a Counsellor to sort out concerns and to get help towards achieving their personal and educational goals, it is clearly a mature and responsible course of action to take.
In addition to councelling individual students, the Cunselling Service also offers workshops and seminars to groups of students who may want to help with such things such as stress management, assertiveness training, examination anxieties, plus other topics by arrangement.
