& Games
The College offers facilities for games like Foot ball,
Basket ball, Hockey, Cricket, Ball badminton and for Athletics.
These activities are guided by Department of Physical Education.
Department of Physical Education can genuinely be proud
of the achievements that the sportsmen under its care achieved
at the University and even national level competitions.
Among the prize winners, Ratnakaran K won All India Open
Chess Championship, Kerala State Senior Rapid Chess Championship
and the Calicut University Chess Championship. He has also
served as the captain of the Calicut University Chess team.
Sujith
M C represented Calicut University in Chess consecutively
for four years. Premjith R K represents the Calicut University
in Football. James John is a member of Calicut University
Volleyball team. Vignesh Kumar D has won second place four
times in weight lifting competitions at the university and
state levels. Ayyappan D secured second place in Calicut
University power lifting and first place in district poer
lifting and second place in district body building competitions.
Sampath Kumar P S secured the first place in University
weight lifting and in the Kozhikode District Amateur Athletic
Meet, he came out first in discuss throw, hammer throw and
shot put. Jubesh Sebastian is a winner in Decathalon in
the Calicut University Athletic Meet. Vivek P secured third
place in discuss throw in the University Athletic Meet.
In team events, we secured the first place in Chess at the
University level. We are also the runners up in cricket
and the finalist in football at the University A Zone.

Among
the other activities conducted by the department is a One-day
seminar on Sports Motivation on 9.10.2002. The
Annual Sports Meet was conducted on 21st January 2003. Mr.
Tom Joseph, Head, Department of Physical Education represented
India as a technical official in Track anf Field Meet at
Colombo, Sri Lanka and was an official at the National Games
at Hyderabad in December 2002. He represented Amature Athletic
Federation of India at the All India Railway Meet, Secunderabad.
